What Are Natural Resources?
Natural resources are the raw materials we get from the Earth and use in almost every aspect of our daily lives — from putting food on the table, to building homes and cars, to creating the energy that powers our world. Natural resources include materials such as lumber, water, metals, oil and food.
Some natural resources are non-renewable, meaning that nature does not quickly remake them. Examples of non-renewable resources include coal, crude oil, natural gas and gold. Other natural resources, such as water and wind energy, are continually replenished in nature.
