Anupma Prakash chosen as new PI for Alaska EPSCoR
Anupma Prakash, a professor of geophysics at the Geophysical Institute (GI) at UAF, has been selected to replace Mark Myers as the principal investigator for the Alaska Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (Alaska EPSCoR). As Mark Myers goes on to become commissioner of the Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Anupma will lead the program which is currently in the midst of a $20 million project spanning five years and involving researchers of a variety disciplines.
Anupma’s skills and expertise involving mapping and remote sensing were utilized by ACEP in the Pilgrim Hot Springs Project to aide in mapping the thermal hot spots of the site. Her partnership through the GI aided in creating detailed, high resolution images of Pilgrim from the air and from space via satellite.
As one of our affiliated researchers, we congratulate Anupman on her new appointment and wish her the best of luck in her new position.
