Director attends Fulbright Scholarship Kickoff Event
ACEP Director Gwen Holdmann is in Iqaluit, Canada this week for the kickoff event of the US Department of State’s Fulbright Arctic Initiative. Selected as one of only 17 scholars from more than 100 applicants, Gwen is joining her new colleagues in Canada to begin the 18 month appointment. The group’s research will focus broadly on the impact of climate change on the Arctic and particularly on the issues of water, energy, health and infrastructure.
The Fulbright Arctic Initiative is an interdisciplinary collaborative research program to study the changing Arctic region. Launched to coincide with the U.S. chairmanship of the Arctic Council the initiative supports the U.S. goal of stimulating international scientific collaboration on issues facing the Arctic, while increasing mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.
