You Can Now Take a 3D Tour of the PSI Lab

䷡’s can now be toured in a virtual 3D environment. The imagery has several options for a virtual walkthrough of the facility. Pushing the “play” button starts an automated tour of the lab that can be paused at any point. Each piece of equipment in the lab is annotated with technical specifications and can be viewed by clicking on the equipment buttons. There is also a “dollhouse” version that enables the viewer to click and drag the 3D lab version for a bird’s-eye view of the entire facility.

The PSI Lab attracts visitors from Alaska as well as national and international researchers and business partners. It can emulate a village’s islanded microgrid with multiple components, such as diesel generators, photovoltaic panels, wind and fault emulators. A supervisory control and data acquisition system (SCADA) serves during equipment testing and research projects.
