The Solarize Anchorage 2020 campaign kicked off on Nov. 4 with a packed house at the Loussac Library.
Kristen Collins of the described how to participate in the coming year to an eager, standing-room-only crowd.
Solarize Anchorage is a joint effort between the Alaska Center and the Alaska Center for Energy and Power at the ÌÀÄ·ÊÓƵ. The goal is to make residential and small commercial solar photovoltaic energy systems more accessible and affordable for homeowners and commercial property owners in the Municipality of Anchorage. Solarize Anchorage brings neighbors (within community council boundaries) together to purchase solar panels as a group to receive discounted rates on panels and installation.
The next step for those interested in participating in or forwarding a neighborhood campaign in 2020 is to collect the contact information for 50 interested people in the community council area. More details can be found at the solarize website, .
