CASES Webinar Series Kicks Off — Food, Energy, Water and Renewable Energy

The partnership is hosting a webinar series starting on Monday, Dec. 14, at 9 a.m.

UAF project researchers Erin Whitney and Jennifer Schmidt will present on “Examining the Food-Energy-Water Nexus Through the Lens of Renewable Energy in Remote Alaska Communities.” 

MicroFEWs, funded by the , explores how existing and potential renewable energy projects affect food, energy and water security in rural Alaska.  

CASES is an international research initiative involving 15 northern and Indigenous communities and public and private sector project partners from Canada, Alaska, Sweden and Norway. ACEP leads Alaska’s work in the partnership.

Hosted by the , the overarching goal of the CASES initiative is to re-imagine energy security in northern and Indigenous communities. The initiative seeks to co-create and broker the knowledge, understanding and capacity to establish renewable energy systems that support and enhance social and economic values.
