Instructors from KTI-RÃ¥stofskolen - Greenland School of Minerals and Petroleum completed classes at the mine training center near Delta Junction.

It's turning out to be a busy spring for the Mining and Petroleum Training Service.

Earlier this month, a group of mining instructors from spent several days at an underground mine training facility near Delta Junction.

The facility is run by MAPTS, part of the ÌÀÄ·ÊÓƵ Institute of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Extension. The training program is part of an ongoing partnership with the Greenland school under a  three-year project sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.

In addition, MAPTS is seeing high demand for its surface mining classes, as well as from Interior Alaska residents who are looking for training for jobs at the Manh Choh Project.
