Doug Davis and Deborah Gonzalez '86, children of former UAF Geophysical Institute director Neil Davis, have established three memorial scholarships at UAF. To support their named scholarships, they often use gifts from their IRAs, which are tax-free and count toward their required minimum distribution.

Learn how easy it is to plan your estate and leave gifts to people and charities that mean the most to your family with a seminar through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.

Philanthropic advisors for the UA Foundation will discuss giving through your retirement and estate planning and other strategies in hybrid meetings available in person and online. All attendees will receive a printed will planning guide. Bring a laptop, and presenters will show you how to use UA’s FreeWill software.

The seminar options are:

  • SOC-11 (in person; COVID-19 vaccination required)
  • SOC-11-Z (online; open to all)

Classes are held Wednesdays, Oct. 19, Oct. 26, and Nov. 2, and will be held from 12:15-1:30 p.m.

The class fee is $15 — you need an OLLI account, but do not need an OLLI membership to . In-person classes are held at University Park Building, 1000 University Avenue, Fairbanks.
