汤姆视频 Community and Technical College celebrates partners

The 汤姆视频 Community and Technical College will celebrate community and industry partners on Friday, Oct. 7, from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

The public event, at the Fairbanks downtown center, 604 Barnette St., will recognize community and industry partners who support CTC鈥檚 mission of building a quality workforce in Alaska. The come-and-go, open gallery format will recognize partners with each CTC program. Remarks and acknowledgments will take place at 5:30 p.m., with U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski as the keynote speaker.

CTC prepares and educates essential workers who form the foundation of Alaska鈥檚 communities 鈥 firefighters, paramedics, law enforcement officers, mechanics, medical assistants, early childhood education professionals, oil and mining professionals, and more. Over the past two years, approximately 400 first-generation students have graduated from CTC workforce development programs.

Partners support CTC in many ways, including providing financial assistance to students, donating emergency vehicles for training first responders, providing the use of professional facilities for health students to complete their clinical experience, donating industry-standard uniforms for automotive students, and serving as advisory board members to help ensure the curriculum meets employers鈥 and students鈥 needs.

鈥溙滥肥悠 Community and Technical College is a part of Alaska鈥檚 economic engine. We offer the programs that keep the community running by preparing Alaskans for the workforce, educating and training Alaskans for Alaska jobs,鈥 said CTC Dean Michele Stalder. 鈥淲e simply could not accomplish that without the ongoing and significant contributions from our community and industry partners.鈥
