ķƵ Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here is what’s happening during the week of July 31-Aug. 6:
- On Monday, Aug. 1, the Tall Timbers interview series will feature a conversation with community arts leader June Rogers. Veteran journalist Robert Hannon will lead the discussion, which will be at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of UAF’s Engineering Learning and Innovation Facility.
- On Tuesday, Aug. 2, the Healthy Living lecture series will feature Dr. Anne Zink, Alaska’s chief medical officer, discussing “Alaska’s Health Scorecard: Moving Toward a Healthier Alaska,” at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
- On Wednesday, Aug. 3, the Discover Alaska lecture series will host journalist and historian Dermot Cole, on “Ranked Choice Voting: Will it Work for Alaska?” at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
- On Thursday, Aug. 4, the Music in the Garden concert series will feature the Fairbanks Community Jazz Band at 7 p.m. at UAF’s Georgeson Botanical Garden.
