Week’s events: Bev Byington, forgetfulness, Far North Quilt Trail and Emily Anderson

ķƵ Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here is what’s happening during the week of June 19-25:
- On Monday, June 19, the Fairbanks Tall Timbers interview series honors Bev Byington, artist and community volunteer. Byington was a school counselor at Lathrop High School and taught art, psychology and sociology at West Valley High School. She has volunteered at Crisis Line, the Tanana Valley Farmers Market, Georgeson Botanical Garden and the Fairbanks Drama Association. In 2022, she helped paint street murals in downtown Fairbanks. The interview is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of the Usibelli Building.
- On Tuesday, June 20, the Healthy Living lecture series will feature Scott Luper, naturopathic physician, addressing the question, “Forgetfulness: When Should I be Concerned?” The lecture is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
- On Wednesday, June 21, the Discover Alaska lecture series will host Somer Hahm, UAF adjunct drawing instructor, discussing the Far North Quilt Trail Project at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
- On Thursday, June 22, the Music in the Garden concert series will feature Emily Anderson at 7 p.m. at UAF’s Georgeson Botanical Garden.
All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the UAF Troth Yeddha’ Campus is free after 5 p.m.
