MISSION
Established at the request of the Alaska Federation of Natives, RAHI has been preparing
rural and Alaska Native high school students for academic excellence and college success
since 1983. Our mission is to empower rural and Alaska Native students to achieve their dreams through higher education.
At RAHI, students take an average of 9 college credits in six weeks and learn how
to thrive academically by experiencing life on campus, enhancing self-confidence and
discipline, and developing a state-wide community to carry with them throughout their
lives. RAHI is offered at no cost to students.
IMPACT

As a rural Alaskan myself, I watch as my education gets neglected in my community;
coming to RAHI to get the exceptional education that I need to be successful means
a lot to me. I feel supported and acknowledged.Nick Luois Amora, Unalaska, RAHI 2024
Awesome opportunity for rural folks. I am still friends with those whom I went to
the summer program with, and composed two songs from there. Google "Bubble Gum Alaska"
and there you will see the music Pamyua shot in Ungalaqliq Alaska.Aassanaaq Kairaiuak, Chefornak, RAHI 1985

returning home, it made my senior year a breeze.Jerica Niayuq Leavitt, Utqiagvik, 2009
