Acting for the Screen & the Stage

Actors in the Department of Theatre and Film learn by doing as they prepare to enter the entertainment industry. Classes include Fundamentals of Acting, Acting for the Camera, Acting II: Voice & Speech, Acting III: Movement, and Acting IV: Scene Study. In these classes, actors practice their craft through monologue and scene work, film and television on-camera technique, voiceover and commercial recordings, stage combat and dance training, audition technique and business preparation, and more! Actors are required to take Practicum classes that apply concepts practiced in class to mainstage theatre and film productions. Our auditions are open to the public and often include guest artists and community members.
